Security around the house of Rajinikanth, who was worshiped as God in South, was extended on Monday. Following an indication of Rajinikanth’s coming to politics, members of an organization named Tamil Munnetra Padai performed around his residence at POS Garden, after which security was increased. A source close to Rajinikanth told the news agency, IANS, “After finding out that some people from an organization are planning to perform in front of Rajinikanth’s house, we have demanded police protection. At the moment, everything under control is.” Rajinikanth (67) had expressed disappointment over the spread of hatred by some Tamil people on social media, after which these demonstrations began.
Rajinikanth said during his discussion with his fans, “I feel sad about spreading hatred by some Tamil people on social media, I never thought they would fall.” Following his statement last week, the Tamil Munnetra posting demanded apology from Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth has been in the discussion for some time now. There are discussions about their coming to politics. He was criticized by saying that he is not a Tamil, but Rajinikanth himself said that he is a Tamil.
Rajinikanth said, “I have lived in Karnataka for 23 years and have been living in Tamil Nadu for 43 years. I came here from Karnataka as a Marathi, you gave me a lot of love, made me a true Tamil.” He said that he will decide to come to politics when the right time comes.
Let’s say, Rajni’s entry in politics is not getting speculative for the first time. Earlier, there was speculation in the year 1996, when he publicly said that the people do not vote in favor of Jayalalithaa. Rajinikanth then said that if AIADMK was re-elected, then God can not even save Tamil Nadu. After this Amma had lost the Assembly elections and DMK-TMC (Tamil Money Congress Congress) got a huge victory.
It is noteworthy that Tamil cinema and politics have always been close relations. In addition to the late MG Ramchandran (MGR) and Jay Jayalalithaa, screenwriter M Karananidhi has also assumed the power of the state.
