TRAI has suggested the Aadhaar e-KYC for internet & broadband connections

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has suggested Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification for customers wanting to get fixed line, internet and broadband connection like mobile connections. If the Department of Telecom accepts TRAI’s recommendations, it will ensure the process of verification is fast and reliable and there will be significant savings in the industry.

Indian Internet Service Provider Association (ISPAI) had suggested to TRAI to extend the base based e-KYC verification to ISP for broadband and internet connections.

It is worth noting that the issue of free trial services on Geo continues for a long time and considering the dispute some time ago, TRAI started the consultation process to decide the rules of testing of their networks before the commercial offers of the companies.

According to the TRAI Consultation Letter, “The Department of Telecommunications has urged the Authority that before any company starts the commercial services by any company, before the launch of the network and the commencement of the commercial, Make recommendations. ”
